I walk all day and all night long,
along the walls of the shadows long gone,
who am I? where am I? The traveler needs to know,
I pace up and down the street along the dewy meadows,
what am I? how am I here? The monk needs to know.
I sit and stare all day at oblivion,
wondering where is my share of the gold,
I see happiness all around, I spread happiness all around
When will I be? The loner needs to know.
I smoke all day and night, putting up a puffing fight,
not knowing why is this? the child needs to know.
I travel in circles, up the hill and down the valley,
I swing by the bushes, out to the lushes,
when will I be home? the nomad needs to know.
I have faith, I have the wisdom,
but do I have the patience? do I have the will to go?
how soon can I be me? The soul needs to know.
